Ok so Oleesia plays soccer and she L-O-V-E-S it. She gets this really intense look on her face and she moves around the field almost like she's dancing sometimes. It can be really funny to watch because she's seven-years-old and is still in the learning phases of soccer. She only has eight games in the fall league and this season she's playing for the Red Dragons. It's an all girls' team and I think everyone is in the 2nd grade. Did I mention she LOVES to play soccer?
So last week, September 25th, she was playing and managed a hat trick. That's THREE goals in the game. Remember we're talking about seven-year-olds here so they don't play with a goalie right now. Goals abound during the course of the game. This week, October 2nd, Oleesia had her next soccer game and they didn't have any subs. Four girls were missing for the game. She was getting really tired by half-time having played the whole time and it was a really fast paced game. Oleesia had a scored one goal in the first half and really was tuckered out. Fortunately, snack time equals half time and she got a break for bit. During half time I just told her to do her best because she was doing so well, but she wanted to get another hat trick like last week. Maybe even one better.... Not greedy at all!
Oleesia came back to the 2nd half of the game with a vengeance and scored her 2nd goal of the game. WooHoo! She was doing well. I told her one more for her hat trick, but no, she holds up two fingers. She wanted the four goals! A few minutes later, Oleesia had her hat trick chance. The ball was inches from the goal.... AND SHE SCORES! GOOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLL for the Olee Poe!!! And is she satisfied?
No!!! I want one more she tells me. I let her know to just stay focused and do her best. Time ran out and Oleesia had to settle for 2nd hat trick, but left the game wanting.
